BRAZIL: FOUR CITIES, THREE PHASES
Phil Graf (co-designer of the Divine Expedition training), Josh Kienzle (Global Training Network’s Director of Operations) and I are about to fly to Brazil to train leaders in four cities.
Following is a summary of the cities we will visit and and the training we will present—as well as a few responses from our last visit to each city.
Matão
Matão is a city of some 90,000 people about three-and-a-half hours east of São Paulo. This will be our second trip to this city. We will conduct our Phase two training there entitled, “Aligning Your Heart with Father God’s Heart.” The focus of Phase Two is to help people deal with the wound’s, lies, and masks that cripple people spiritually and relationally. Our goal is to disempower the negative effect these things have in our lives, and instead live out of God’s heart for us.

Here is just one response from our previous (Phase One) training in Matão:
“What impacted me most was the focus, as well as to go out to evangelize others (that was the best). There is no measure for the love that you have for the work of the Lord (including you all) shown by leaving your homes to do God’s work.”
Valinhos
Valinhos is a bit closer to São Paulo, comprised of population of over 120,000

people. It is famous for its purple fig and its annual Fig Fest. We will conduct our Phase Two training there as well (even though it will be our third training in Valinhos. We recently switched the order of Phases Two and Three at the suggestion of the Brazilians we are working with).
Here is one response from our Phase Two training (now Phase Three), “Empowering Leaders for Multiplication”:
“Beloved, I am without words to describe the size of grace and anointing I received from God through your lives. All of it was tremendous, and great. I only regret two things— that the time seemed so short and for those people who missed it. May you continue being used in the hands of the Creator wherever you go. A huge hug in Christ!”
Jacareí
Jacareí is also in the State of São Paulo (the same name as the largest city) and has a population of over 225,000. The city is known as the “Capital of Beer” (we haven’t tried any) because of the daily output of its factories, considered one of the biggest in Latin America. It is approximately one hour to travel there from Valinhos.

Here is one of the responses from our last training in Jacarei:
“God worked in my heart using the team “Divine Expedition” and showing me one more time his faithful love. It was very good to be able to discover the lies of the enemy and reject them through the power of the blood of Jesus. I desire to be used to rescue other people and to teach them that the beautiful and great story is worth it!”
São José dos Campos
“Do you know the way to São José? I’ve got a lot of friends in São José,” São José dos Campos that is. At least Pete and Jane Hawkins have a lot of friends there because that’s where they live.

Do you remember Pete and Jane? They were part of our Crossroads church we planted in Amsterdam. The moved to Brazil for Pete’s work, and have started several churches since moving. They have organized a Divine Expedition Phase One training in their city. I spoke at their church last year and saw a number of people express new faith in Christ.
The city of São José is just a few miles (kilometers) from Jacareí, and is one of the leading industrial and research centers in Latin America with a population of almost 700,000. Phase One is “Romans as a Life and Mission Map.” This is our base line training that provides a biblical framework for life transformation and missional impact.
DIVINE EXPEDITION BRAZIL (AND BRAZILIAN) LEADERS

Our desire is to equip leaders to multiply viral, missional, disciple-making, leadership-developing, church planting movements. We are excited to be joined by a number of Brazilians who are in the process of becoming “Master Trainers.” Even more, we praise God that Brazilians Sammy and Marcia Diab and Tony and Mariana Ademo have joined the staff of Global Training Network to give leadership to the Divine Expedition training in Brazil.
Please pray for our Divine Expedition team as we travel, train leaders, and reach out with the good news of our wonderful Savior who alone can bring us to God.
Because of His great grace,
Linus, Phil, the Divine Expedition Brazil team and our families
