AND SEPTEMBER WAS FULL, BUT...
I am just back from Colorado and a week of Global Training Network meetings but I want to jump back to August and two events that framed my month.
At the beginning of August, I began a road trip that took me to Oregon, Washington, and Idaho with stops along the way to connect with friends, family, and Cedar Mill Bible Church where I was ordained.
The event that took me on this 3,000 plus mile drive was Sharon’s family reunion in Seattle. I went, wanting to steward Sharon’s desire (and mine) that her family would know Christ so I put together a notebook entitled:
SHARON’S STORY
“THERE’S A ROCK AT THE BOTTOM WHEN YOU HIT ROCK BOTTOM”
And it’s Jesus, the Rock of Ages
(song: “Rock Bottom” by 11th Hour)
INSIDE THE NOTEBOOK:

I had lots of pictures of Sharon (like the one here), along with a letter she wrote to her mother about how unhappy she was in our first few years of marriage. In her letter, Sharon expressed her hope that her “precious little baby” (Laina) would one day know Jesus.
Long story short, that precious little baby did come to know Jesus—as did Sharon’s husband (me), her father, and over the years a number of her family members. It was a joy to talk with some of them who did and to see the interest expressed by others in “Sharon’s story.”

THE OTHER END OF AUGUST
After time with the “Mason clan” (Sharon’s maiden name), and connecting with more friends and family (the Morris clan) in the Pacific Northwest, my grandson Mason and I drove to Los Angeles to attend the Adventures of the Heart Expedition.
Led by friend Reese Bricken and co-led by Linus Jr., we were joined by ten NO BS BS (the Friday morning Bible study I lead) members. The exciting thing for me was that the other NO BS BSERS also brought sons, son-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and friends with them.

Here we are with some of the other men attending. All of us were impacted by the sessions. Those of us who have attended before find that the messages go deeper each time we return, and we want others to experience that, too.
PLAYING CATCH UP
September seems to have just blown by. There is lots to praise God for, including our Global Training Network meetings and reports from our Divine Expedition national leaders. I will pause here, however, to thank you for being On Expedition with Jesus and with me.
Because of God’s amazing grace,

Linus for the GTN Divine Expedition team
P.S. Please keep praying for Nepal and our Divine Expedition leader pastor Rabin who is part of the recovery effort.
