Thanks Peter–it’s nice to be appreciated!

I recently received an email of appreciation. It’s always an encouragement to get feedback about how God in His grace has used and is using us. Here is the note I received:

Peter

“Linus,

It is the coolest of blessings to receive the “Expedition” newsletter. I am looking forward to your book coming out. My memories of you date back to the summer of 1968 at Calvary Church Pacific Palisades (the old location—we talked about this a few years back).  You have been in my thoughts and prayers almost daily. Lately I have been reconnecting with some of my old Christian friends. I look at these friendships, acquaintances, and fellowship in Christ as being part of my spiritual heritage and part of the spiritual stability and encouragement that the Lord has given to me by His Spirit.

During the last few years I have had an ongoing revival in my spirit, enjoying and experiencing powerfully the resurrected Christ living in and through me by the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. Without your knowing it,  your ministry with Christian Associates…your testimony…the things I have read on the CA website…the memories I have of you…along with your “Expedition” blog…have been a big part of that revival in my spirit, coming from our Lord by His Spirit. So for what it is worth…thanks so much!  My prayers continue with you!

Part of my appreciation for you and the ministry of Christian Associates comes from the fact that my uncle (Richard M L Beede) did News Release Basketball with you guys for a number of years. He often shared with me how much this ministry meant to him. This has been a great, great blessing and continues to hold a special place in my life.

There is something special in your testimony, life and walk with our Lord that has moved me to write this note and say, Linus, thanks for being a blessing to my life. While we haven’t seen and/or fellowshipped together in years, my prayer is that we would be able to reconnect and to have that kind of kindred spirit sort of fellowship again. I am so thankful for this personal revival in my spirit…so comforting…so encouraging…so blessed from the Lord…and for His glory.

I’ll leave this here as I’ve written too much already. May the warmest blessings of our Lord be upon you and Sharon in Jesus’ name!

Warmly In Christ Our Lord,

Peter H—from southern Oregon

This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. (Jeremiah 6:16)

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten….”  (Joel 2.:25)
